Responsibilities
- Maintains and processes bi-weekly and weekly payrolls including hourly, salaried and PIP/commission employees in a multi-state environment.
- Reviews the Access and Equipment forms for payroll-related deductions and changes.
- Enters employee information into the payroll system such as Pay Class, Time Off Policy, Attendance Supervisor, Time Off Policy, Office, Auto and Phone Allowances, Direct Deposit, To-Date Accumulators for part-time and sales employees including status flags.
- Updates city, state and federal withholdings.
- Updates Payroll Analysis and Manual Check Report
- Maintains filing of payroll reports for payroll reconciliations.
- Assists with research and resolution of payroll variances.
- Researches and resolves payroll issues.
- Assists employees with payroll related questions/issues.
- Performs Bonus Plus maintenance, testing and resolves issues.
- Serves as backup for the monthly Union dues and pension reporting.
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
- Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law.
- Ensures confidentiality of employees’ pay records.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager.
Minimum Requirements & Experience:
- Associate degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least six months of payroll processing experience.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting.
- Prior experience and understanding of payroll software.
