HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER

Multi-site retail operator located in Southeast Texas is looking for a Human Resource Manager to join an aggressive management team to effectively manage the human resources needs in order to optimize productivity, profitability and employee satisfaction

Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations. Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
  • plan and manage recruitment and selection of staff
  • identify and manage training and development needs for employees
  • develop and implement human resources policies and procedures ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and regulations
  • implement employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • ensure compensation and benefits are in line with company policies and legislation
  • conduct annual open enrollment along with monthly enrollment meetings
  • handle employee complaints, grievances and disputes
  • administer employee discipline processes
  • review and update employee rules and regulations
  • maintain the human resource information system and

employee database

  • knowledge of payroll related laws including CARES Act
  • oversee 401(k) administration and conduct enrollment meetings
  • reconcile benefits related bills and submit for payment
  • oversee COBRA administration
  • knowledge of relevant software including Excel and Word
  • manage human resource staff of one

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or similar work experience required. Five to Ten Years’ experience preferred. PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
