Position Summary

The POS Software Trainer will be responsible to offer a complete, detailed & effective training experience for our customers. This entails:

  • Pre-planning training outlines to fit our customer’s needs,
  • Customer coordination while maintaining transparent communication,
  • Management of training hours sold,
  • Creation of training documentation or videos to support training efforts, and
  • Offering superior customer service throughout the entire process.

The successful candidate must be comfortable training, presenting, and communicating with cashiers, managers, and owners. Experience working in a grocery environment is a must along with customer service experience and experience training customers. The right candidate is a self-starter who is able to work with limited supervision. Strong verbal and written communication in English is required and Spanish is an asset. Note that this is not an IT position but strong computer skills are an asset. This position requires travel and irregular work hours which includes weekends.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite or remote training in all aspects of POS Software
  • Provide clear and transparent communication and coordination with customers
  • Manage all projects within the allotted time & scope
  • Schedule, facilitate, and personalize the training program for each assigned client project while ensuring that training deliverables are met within the allocated timelines
  • Assist in designing new and updating existing training materials, documentation, and videos
  • Act as the key subject matter expert throughout the client’s onboarding process, consulting on best practices and answer how-to questions
  • Provide superior customer service and professional phone etiquette
  • Provide swift problem identification and resolution for software related problems
  • Provide accurate answers to operational questions
  • Recommend additional products and solutions where required
  • Support multiple software solutions relating to the POS environment
  • Provide diligent customer follow up
  • Troubleshoot a variety of systems over the phone via a remote desktop application
  • Provide quality assurance through hardware and software staging activities
  • Execute any and all duties pertaining to sales-related activities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years grocery experience
  • Minimum of 2 years customer service experience
  • An interest in new technologies
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of a group of people
  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written; Spanish fluency an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction and exercise strong initiative, judgement and confidentiality
  • Ability to learn and understand proprietary POS software systems quickly
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
  • Interpersonal skills along with patience, understanding, proactivity and a customer-friendly attitude towards immediate problem identification and resolution and excellent customer service experience
  • Experience with LOC Store Management Suite software is an asset
  • Experience in a teaching or training role is an asset
  • Basic understanding of POS hardware including scanner/scales, receipt printers and EFT hardware is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of electronic payment devices is an asset
  • Basic understanding of Windows OS, basic networking, SQL databases or equivalent experience is an asset
